OVERVIEW

In January 2014, CLE Communications were approached by Investec’s CSI division to assist with creating widespread awareness of their leading academic programme called Promaths – a programme that offers extra intensive tuition in the subjects of Pure Maths & Science to learners between Grades 10 & 12. Each year an awards ceremony is held to honour Matriculants on the programme that achieved excellent results. This year the Class of 2013 attended an awards ceremony held in Sandton Johannesburg on the 28th January 2014.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Brief:
CLE Communications was tasked with creating widespread awareness about the Investec Promaths awards ceremony & programme.

Target audience:
News media with a specific focus on Education and CSI as well as the general public.

Media:
Targeted key media based in Johannesburg were invited to attend the awards ceremony held on the 28th January 2014. In addition to this CLE Communications crafted a press release tapping into current affairs around Education such as the quality of Maths & Science passes, skills shortages in South Africa , etc.

The Approach:

Through aggressive pitching of the programme, awards ceremony, guest speaker Siyabulela Xuza a Top South African Scientist as well as the Head of Investec CSI Setlogane Manchidi, CLE Communications secured coverage on ENCA Prime Times News, The Cape Argus , Bizcommunity, etc.

Results:
To date CLE Communications has achieved R1, 594, 062.00 in PR value for the Promaths Campaign. This figure is still growing as a number of Editorial opportunities will be featured in upcoming months.
